Jo Gorrod added the cross country title to her 2008 Jersey Marathon win |
Guernsey's men and Jersey's women dominated the cross-country inter-insular at the weekend. Home runners Steve Dawes, Alan Rowe and Mark Mercier took the top three spots at Delancy Park, while Jersey's Jo Gorrod took the women's honours. "We pretty much cleaned up the men's trophies," Paul Ingrouille from the Guernsey Athletics Club told BBC Guernsey. "But the senior women was almost the reverse of that," he added. Guernsey's Louise Perrio came second in the women's race, but nobody was able to touch Gorrod, according to Ingrouille. "Even though Louise Perrio has been on very good form, an unfortunate injury leading up to the race meant she wasn't quite able to keep up with Jo," he said.
