Injury puts Olsson out of Worlds
Christian Olsson
Olsson claimed an impressive victory at the Athens Olympics
Olympic triple jump champion Christian Olsson will miss next month's World Athletics Championships after failing to recover fully from a foot injury.

The Swede had ankle surgery in March and last month doctors removed a piece of bone from his right foot.

"Everything looks alright now but that is why I don't want to force anything and take unnecessary risks," said the European, world and Olympic champion.

"I don't want to go to a world championships just to participate."

The Swede added that he was looking forward to next year's World Indoor Championships in Moscow and the European Championships in Gothenburg.
