Paul McKee won a world indoor bronze medal in 2003 |
Paul McKee won his 400 metre race at the UK Indoor City Challenge in Manchester on Sunday but the Belfastman was disappointed with his time of 48.8. "I felt a bit tired today and didn't feel great in the warm-up before the race," said McKee who had run a 400m relay leg on Saturday in Glasgow.
Paul Brizzel won his 200m race in 21.83 and was third in the 60m in 7.01.
Zoe Brown cleared 4.00m in the pole vault while Caolan Flanagan set an indoor high jump PB of 2.04m.
McKee will hope for better in next weekend's indoor meeting in Cardiff.
"I'll do the 400m in Cardiff next week where I'll be looking to run at least a second faster than today."
The Northern Ireland team finished fifth in the team event in Manchester.
A number of the team produced personal bests including Rhiannon McNally in the women's shot (10.84m) and Sean McMahon in the long jump (6.79m).
