Kenyan star William Yiampoi is the latest big name who has agreed to compete in this weekend's Irish Indoor Athletics Championships in Belfast. Yiampoi, whose 800m best of 1:42.91 leaves him 18th on the all-time list, has entered both his specialist event and the 1500m.
If he elects to compete in the longer event, he will be up against Northern Ireland athlete James McIlroy.
The Larne man will move up in distance from 800m to tackle the metric mile.
McIlroy will be using the Odyssey event as part of his preparations for next month's World Indoor Championships in Budapest.
The Northern Ireland athlete finished second in 800m in last weekend's AAA's Championship and the athlete who defeated McIlroy will be back in action in Belfast.
Ahmed Ismail of the Sudan had too much speed for McIlroy in Sheffield and his rivals in Belfast are scheduled to include Olympic Games-bound Irish athlete James Nolan.

The men's 400m has the makings of a cracking race with Ireland's AAA's champion Robert Daly and his compatriot David McCarthy scheduled to face world-rated Bahamian Chris Brown and top-class Sudanese athlete Negmeldin Ali Abubakr.
Paul Brizzel, fresh from his fine victory in the 200m at the AAA's, will be up against Olympic silver medallist Darren Campbell and world indoor medallist Dominic Demeritte in the sprints.
Talented young Briton Dwayne Grant and Ireland's World Student Games medallist Paul Hession will also compete in the 60m and the 200m.
Last year's inaugural indoor event at the Odyssey saw Irish walker Gillian O'Sullivan set a world indoor 3000m record.
O'Sullivan will be back in action on Sunday and the men's 5K walk will see Poland's double Olympic champion Robert Korzeniowski heading the field.
Other top Irish athletes in action will include pole vaulter Zoe Brown, AAA's 200m champion Ciara Sheehy while a number of other foreign athletes are expected to be added to the entry prior to the weekend.
Paul McKee, who is planning to compete in the 60m in Belfast, will be in action in Stockholm on Thursday evening over 400m.
The world indoor medallists has been struggling for form in recent weeks and will use the Odyssey meeting in an effort to work on his speed.
