Mazembe through with Jeanne d'Arc win
Group 1: TP Mazembe 3-1 Jeanne d'Arc

Kalidou Cissokho
Jeanne d'Arc keeper Cissokho had a miserable game
DR Congo's TP Mazembe made sure of their place in the semi-finals of the Caf Champions League by getting a 3-1 victory over Senegal's Jeanne d'Arc in Lumbumbashi.

Mazembe's win came as a result of serious errors made by Jeanne d'Arc keeper Kalidou Cissokho.

The Senegalese side, who needed to win the game in order to finish above Mazembe on the table, were given early hope through Amdy Gueye.

The defender netted on 26 minutes, causing flutters in the hearts of Mazembe 25,000 fans.

But Jeanne d'Arc's lead lasted only five minutes.

Cissokho failed to control a long throw-in and the ball bounced off his gloves, hitting the back of Mulangu Bafwafwa's head and rolling embarassingly across the line.

Just before half time, Bafwafwa's weak shot inexplicably wriggled out of Cissokho's hands - giving Bafwafwa the chance to get his second goal.

Jeanne d'Arc returned in the second half simply unable to lift themselves, and were hit again within three minutes, as Bongeli Lofo increased Mazembe's tally.

With the impossible task of having to score three goals on the tough Mazembe pitch, the Senegalese had effectively ruled themselves out of the contest.
