Venus Williams made a huge number of mistakes but had enough in her game to beat unseeded Czech Denisa Chladkova 6-3 7-6 in their semi-final.

"I made many mistakes today," said Williams.

"I was just thinking too much about my shot instead of playing it. But I should know how to do it tomorrow."

Mauresmo broke for the set and Dokic squandered two more chances to break in the second before the Frenchwoman won the last two games to love to wrap up the match.

"There were tough conditions and not the best tennis I've played in my life, so I'm happy to get through," said Mauresmo.

"I think I handled the conditions a little bit better than her, and it got to her mind I think. When she had the break points I just kept fighting and hung in there."
