Tim Henman's hopes of reaching a fourth Queen's final were crushed by Sebastien Grosjean on Centre Court. The nimble Frenchman, who beat Lleyton Hewitt in the quarters-finals, always seemed one step ahead of his opponent and goes through to the final without having dropped a set.
Henman missed too many first serves and lacked his usual assurance at the net.
Sixth seed Grosjean broke once in the first set and twice in the second to set up a 6-3 6-4 victory.
One bright spot for the British number one was that Henman's shoulder is holding up despite the need for treatment on it during the match.
"It was just a bit stiff today," he said. "I do not envisage it being a long-term problem.
"I would be lying if I said it was not on my mind but if I had made the final I would be raring to go."
