Sport Relief Milers will be voting with their feet around the country on 10 July as the charity aims to set a new world record for mass participation in a single event. But going the extra mile to tackle poverty this summer does not only mean running, walking or crawling your way around a course near you on Sport Relief Saturday.
For those who prefer, there is always the Speedo Sport Relief Swim Challenge on 26 June.
In fact, swimmers of all ages and abilities will be taking the plunge in support of Sport Relief at swimming pools all over the UK this summer.
The event will help raise money to tackle poverty and disadvantage around the world as Sport Relief aims to build on the staggering 14m raised from the inaugural campaign in 2002.
The Speedo Sport Relief Mile will be split into two categories to make sure that swimmers of all abilities benefit.
The time trial mile will allow stronger swimmers to set a personal best in training then aim to beat it on the day.
But if the mere thought of a mile in the water is enough to make you gurgle, then the freestyle mile offers individuals or teams a more relaxed challenge to raise money.
The Speedo Sport Relief Challenge is just one of a series of events planned this summer, with the campaign culminating in Sport Relief Saturday on 10 July.
