While Powell's elusive running has thrust him into the reckoning after just eight Wales caps, his lack of control in Rome may cause some to revise their opinion of a Lions Test number eight in the making. A tendency to over-do the one-handed, 50-50 offloads contributed to Wales' problems in the first half. And the way he crabbed across field and took the ball into touch, surrendering possession, in the second suggested a lack of clarity in a key decision-making position. VERDICT: Would be a surprise if he was not unleashed on the Springboks, but maybe as an impact player rather than Test starter.
