World Cup veterans: Mike Catt
Country: England Age: 35 Caps: 70 World Cups: 3 Position: Centre/fly-half
Like a fine wine, Catt has survived plenty of disturbances over the years but has matured into a pivotal vintage.
The old man of English rugby survived the steam-rollering he received from Jonah Lomu in the 1995 World Cup, and has bounced back from moments of derision early in his career.
His nous, kicking and spatial awareness could be key. His second-half appearance against Wales in the 2003 World Cup reignited England's challenge.
