Davo's venue guide

TOWNSVILLE, QUEENSLAND
Dairy Farmers Stadium

  • Capacity: 31,000
  • Home team: North Queensland Cowboys RLC
  • Other info: Formerly known as Stockland Stadium

  • Bundaberg rum, that most lethal of liquors, is consumed with reckless abandon by north Queensland's young males.

So don't be fooled by the name of this stadium, milk doesn't get a look in around here.

The first game here on 12 October should make for an intriguing clash of cultures, with Japanese fans armed with sake, locals with Bundy and Scottish folk with whatever they can get their hands on.

The name of the stadium conjures up images of fields, and it doesn't let you down - traditional grass hills take up most of the space in the 30,000-capacity ground. Hopefully, the cows'll be shifted in time.

    Fixtures
    12 Oct: Scotland v Japan (Pool B)
    18 Oct: France v Japan (Pool B)
    23 Oct: Fiji v Japan (Pool B)
