Paul Hunter lost his battle to cancer on Monday 9 October 2006 at the age of 27.

Tributes from the world of snooker and his huge legion of fans came flooding in as soon as the news became public.

"We've lost a great character, champion and a great friend. It's a shocking loss," said fellow player Ken Doherty.

"He had everything, the world at his feet, and it's such a shame. He was one of our characters and a fantastic player."
