Experts from the BBC racing team pick six horses to follow over the jumps during the 2004-05 season. Macs Joy (Jessica Harrington)
Winner of the Swinton Hurdle in May, his aim is the Totesport Gold Trophy in February. He could prove up to winning good conditions hurdles.
Moscow Flyer (Jessica Harrington)
One of the best-two mile chasers, who is to be given the chance to try three miles. Either wins or falls, I think he is still improving and hopefully his jumping is too.
Patriarch Express (Sue Smith)
Now with Sue Smith and has already improved to win a handicap hurdle at Wetherby. He may continue in those or go novice chasing, either way he will win plenty more.
Secret Ploy (Hughie Morrison)
Unbeaten in three bumpers he is a novice hurdler to follow from one of the best trainers in the country.
Royal Emperor (Sue Smith)
Very good staying novice chaser last season who should collect handicaps this season. Staying is his forte, but he doesn't like fast ground.
Naunton Brook (Nigel Twiston-Davies)
Only young but is already a winning novice chaser, who could take on handicappers soon, and his stable is adept at placing horses who shoot up the ratings.
