Experts from the BBC racing team pick six horses to follow over the jumps during the 2004-05 season. Baracouda (Francois Doumen)
A class act over the past few years - back-to-back winner of the Stayers' Hurdle at Cheltenham and in my mind a real banker. Pipped in the 2004 race by Iris's Gift, should come back strongly this term, even without Thierry Doumen in the saddle.
Lord Transcend (Howard Johnson)
A very nice horse. Potential Cheltenham Gold Cup material.
Ollie Magern (Nigel Twiston-Davies)
Three runs this season and three wins - not a bad start. Carl Llewellyn has been singing his praises - a novice chaser for the future.
Simply Supreme (Sue Smith)
One win under his belt already at Carlisle this season, I liked what I saw, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the handicaps.
Summit Up (Nigel Twiston-Davies)
Brother of Earth Summit. Ran well in my yard, will be a good horse to follow.
Wellbeing (Pascal Bary)
An interesting choice this - Wellbeing is actually a horse used to the Flat who has been converted to the hurdles. Finished second in the 2001 Coronation Cup, and could be an outside bet this season.
