Walker and Hyatt rescue Newcastle
Basketball
The Newcastle Eagles came within four seconds of losing their hold on the BBL Trophy but recovered to beat the Scottish Rocks 86-78 in overtime.

The Rocks led 73-71 before TJ Walker's last-gasp basket sent the teams' group game into the extra period.

In overtime, Jeremy Hyatt scored 10 of his 18 points on the night to take the Eagles into the semi-finals.

In the BBL Championship, leaders Sheffield lost to Guildford for the second time in a week, 84-89 at home.

Walker's 19 points were crucial in keeping the Eagles in with a chance of retaining the four titles they won last season.

The Rocks, who were led by Sterling Davis' 28 points, have a chance for revenge in Sunday's Cup semi-final at Braehead.

Sheffield Sharks, who were led by Jeff Bonds' 31 points, came back to tie the game from 25 points down against Guildford after the Heat started the second half with a 23-0 run.

With the game level 82-82 with 14 seconds remaining, Brian Dux and Michael Martin hit crucial baskets in the next eight seconds to guide Guildford into second place in the league.

England international Martin led the Heat's scorers with 27 points.
