Planning will vary greatly. Some athletes will see the indoor competitions as a bit of fun and almost train through them. It's about keeping fresh.
Athletes like Paula Radcliffe, Kelly Sotherton and Phillips Idowu (far left) will be thinking this is their last chance for Olympic glory.
The younger ones like Jessica Ennis (left) or Christine Ohuruogu will be just as excited and have high hopes to do well, but they still have 2012 on the horizon.
