Slovenian Matej Zagar will ride at number 1 for the Eagles

Eastbourne Eagles co-promoter Mike Bellerby is positive ahead of the Knockout Cup final against Poole.

The Eagles host the first leg at Arlington Stadium on Sunday, with the second leg on Wednesday.

Bellerby told BBC Sussex: "It is a great end to the season. We've had a tremendous second half of the season.

"Poole have come to Arlington twice in the second half of the season and we've beaten them both times. We go into the final full of confidence."

He added: "All the riders are really flying at the moment.

"They know Arlington extremely well and are fired up for it. They know what is expected of them.

The Eagles have won the Knockout Cup three times in their history, in 1997, 2002 and 2008, and Bellerby would like to add to that haul.

"It would mean a lot to everyone around the club if we can finish off the season winning some silverware," he said.
