Kylmakorpi won the Knockout Cup with Lakeside Hammers last year

Eastbourne Eagles co-promoter Mike Bellerby is targeting silverware as his side begin their Knockout Cup campaign at Arlington Stadium.

The Eagles host local-rivals Lakeside Hammers on Thursday, with the return leg on Friday.

Bellerby told BBC Sussex: "We think we can go all the way in the cup.

"We had a tremendous second half to the Elite League campaign at Arlington, where we were undefeated in our 'B' fixtures. We're full of confidence."

He added: "We're taking forward that confidence into the cup campaign and we're determined to win some silverware."

The Eagles welcome back Finnish rider Joonas Kylmakorpi, who won the FIM World Long Track title at the final Grand Prix of this year's series last Saturday.

"Joonas has been having a good season anyway, but to win the World Championship is the icing on the cake," Bellerby added.

"We're expecting big things from him and the rest of the team."
