Freddie Lindgren top scored for Wolves at Eastbourne with 10 points

Defending champions Wolves lost 49-41 at Eastbourne in their final Elite League meeting of the regular season.

Wolves came through the meeting without any injuries, with the second leg of their play-off semi-final with Poole on Monday firmly in their sights.

Team manager Peter Adams said: "A lot of the talk before the meeting was about us staying safe, but if you start looking for trouble then you find it.

"It could have gone either way and we travel back home disappointed."

He added: "We treated this meeting the same as any other as best we could, we went for the win and we came up short."

Wolves go to Wimborne Road on Monday level on points with Poole after a drawn first leg at Monmore Green on 13 September.
