Rory McIlroy is the boy wonder of European golf after winning his maiden title in Dubai in February.

The 19-year-old from Northern Ireland was the youngest player to reach the world's top 50 at the end of 2008 and has now climbed to 17th in the rankings.

McIlory makes his debut at Augusta this week and could become the youngest ever winner, beating Tiger Woods's mark of 21 years three months 14 days in 1997.

On average, it takes six attempts to win a first Masters - American Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979 was the last of only three players to have won on their debut.
