Picking the Open champion - top 10
Clockwise from top left: Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Vijay Singh, Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald, Geoff Ogilvy, Henrik Stenson
What about the world's top 10 - is the winner there? Maybe. Apart from Woods, Furyk and Els, there's world number two Phil Mickelson, who is battling back from a wrist injury. Lefty was third in 2004 but his links record is otherwise lacklustre.

Or there's Vijay Singh, runner-up to Els in 2002. The 44-year-old has won three majors and could yet win more. Of the rest, Adam Scott (ranked 5th), Henrik Stenson (7), Luke Donald (9) and Padraig Harrington (10) are still chasing a first major win.

But Aussie Geoff Ogilvy (8) knows what it takes after winning the US Open in 2006. And he was fifth at St Andrews in the 2005 Open.
