Love heads for glory
Davis Love III
Davis Love III had three birdies and one bogey
Davis Love III is on course to win The International after maintaining his 10-point lead going into the final round at Castle Rock in Colorado.

The American picked up five points during his third round, increasing his total to 41 under the modified Stableford scoring system used in this event.

John Rollins also earned five points to keep hold of second place with 31 points while Vijay Singh was third with 28 after a nine-point round.

The scoring system gives players eight points for a double eagle, five points for an eagle, two points for birdie, zero for par, minus one for bogey and minus three for double bogey or worse.

"It was obviously not as good as the last two days, but it was very steady," Love said of his round in comparison to his tournament-record 36 points in the first two rounds.

"I hit a lot of good shots, was on a lot of greens and never found myself in trouble.

"I had a couple greens that I missed probably in the wrong place, but I wasn't in danger of making a big score."

Love, who had 10 birdies in the first round and three eagles in the second round, turned in a pedestrian three-birdie, one-bogey performance at the par-72 Castle Pines Golf Club.

Rich Beem won last year with a four-round total of 44 points, including 19 on the final day.

The field, cut after 36 holes, was trimmed again for Sunday's final round.
