 Adam Scott fired a closing 69 |
Australian Adam Scott held off England's Nick Dougherty to win the Scandic Carlsberg Scandinavian Masters in Sweden on Sunday. Scott carded a final-round 69 for an 11-under-par to beat Dougherty by two strokes at the Barseback Golf and Country Club in Malmo.
The trio of Andrew Coltart, Luke Donald and Robert Karlsson finished a shot further back.
The 23-year-old Scott's fourth European title virtually seals his place in the Presdent's Cup - the Ryder Cup-style event between the Rest of the World (minus Europe) and America - in South Africa in November.

Scott, who had missed the cut in his previous three tournaments, began the day tied with Dutchman Maarten Lafeber on eight under.
But the pair had already been caught by the earlier starters before they teed off.
Scott soon traded the lead with Dougherty before birdies on the 11th and 12th stretched his margin to three for the first time.
A dropped shot on 14 gave Dougherty a glimmer of hope but further birdies at 15 and 16 effectively sealed Scott's victory, even though he stumbled with a bogey at the par-four 17th.
Dougherty, the 2002 European Tour rookie of the year, finished with a birdie for a 69, while Scotland's Coltart jumped from tied 14th overnight with a 68.
England's Donald saw his challenge falter with a two-under 70 as Sweden's Karlsson closed with a 69.
Lafeber, meanwhile, slumped to a share of 11th after a disappointing 75.
