Scottish Open Els tightened his grip |
Another controlled round of golf saw Ernie Els stretch his lead to five shots at Loch Lomond after Saturday's third round.
Els recorded a four-under-par 67 to move on to 15 under, with Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke and Phillip Price of Wales sharing second place.
A stunning nine-under-par 62 by Peter O'Malley early in the day saw him race up the leaderboard and he lies a further two shots back at eight under par.

Els picked up shots at the third, ninth, 14th and 15th, before dropping his only shot of the day at the 16th.
But he recovered with a fifth birdie at the last to stay on track for his second Scottish Open title.
"Five shots sounds like a lot but in a way you're kind of more worried about losing it," said Els.
"Some of the flags for tomorrow look quite tough so it is going to be difficult to shoot low which might make it a bit easier for me."
Clarke had mixed feelings about his round of seven under par.
"I drove the ball well, hit my irons an awful lot better and hit a lot of good putts," he said.

"But 64 is probably the worst score I could have shot out there.
"I missed from about five feet on the first, from four feet on 13 and a few others here and there - otherwise it could have been a very, very good score."
O'Malley reeled off nine birdies in a flawless round to finish the day at eight under and jump from a share of 44th place overnight to second place, albeit briefly.
The Australian picked up shots at four of the first five holes and raced home in 30 with five more birdies to equal the lowest round of his career.
"I played well in France recently so I felt my form was pretty good and I am very much a confidence player," said O'Malley.
"If things go well I ride that wave and yesterday I got a bit negative after a bad start. If the vibes are there I ride on them and I holed a couple of good putts early on today."
Britain's Lee Westwood fired a four-under 67 to finish the day at three-under-par, while Phil Mickelson was one over after his third round 70.

Kenny Perry moved into a one-shot lead at eight-under-par after three rounds at the Brown Deer Park course.
Perry grabbed the lead with a round of 66 to keep him clear of six players tied for second place as the poor weather conditions that had hindered play started to ease.
Brenden Pappas with a round of 63, overnight leader Jay Don Blake (71), Jerry Kelly (70), Heath Slocum (68), Steve Allan (68) and Patrick Sheehan (70) are all in hot pursuit.
Former winner Shigeki Maruyama is two strokes back at 204, and another six players are three shots off the pace.
Perry was having a mediocre round himself - even-par through 10 holes - before collecting four birdies to jump into the lead.
"I couldn't seem to get much going, but I just told myself to be patient, keep hanging in there," said Perry.
"My goal was to stay within two shots of the lead to have a shot on Sunday.
"And the next thing you know, I made four birdies on the back nine. I look up and I've got the lead of the tournament.
"It's kind of crazy."
