Britain's Laura Davies was four shots off the pace set by leader Se Ri Pak in the first round of the Safeway Ping tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. Davies, who won the title four years in a row from 1994-97, carded a 69 to the South Korean's 65 at the Moon Valley Country Club.
The 39-year-old Davies fired five birdies in the first 13 holes before dropping shots at the 15th and 17th.

"It always hurts not to finish too well, but 69 is still fine for a first round," said Davies, who won the Australian Ladies' Masters earlier this year.
Catriona Matthew also shot three under to share the leading British honours, but it was Pak who set a scorching pace with eight birdies in a round of seven under.
She leads by one from the 1999 winner, Australia's Karrie Webb, with America's Dorothy Delasin and France's Patricia Meunier-Lebuc in joint third on five under.
