York City goalkeeper Michael Ingham will "go back to the drawing board" to improve his distribution.
The 29-year-old pulled a thigh muscle a few weeks ago and he says it has knocked his confidence a little bit.
He told BBC Radio York: "I've got a problem with my kicking at the moment. I pulled my thigh a couple of weeks ago and I'm a bit tentative.
"It's affecting my kicking. I'll probably go back to the drawing board this week and try and rectify it."
The Northern Ireland international added: "I'm not a bad kicker of the ball. I think I'm a good kicker of the ball.
"You take the good and the bad and you go back to the drawing board and you work on things and try to get better week-in week-out."
Ingham saved a penalty against Bedworth United in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup and he is looking forward to facing Crewe in the first round, saying: "I think we can turn over anybody at home."
