Walker is still undecided which players will start the season opener
York City kept their unbeaten pre-season record with a 1-0 win over League One side Hartlepool.
Ben Wilkinson scored the only goal in the game and manager Colin Walker told BBC Radio York he was pleased with the way his team had played.
"I think the performance was more than the result. The result's always nice but I thought the lads did real well.
"It's a difficult job to do at the moment because everybody's really playing well and on top of the game."
These results are great but I'd lose them all for three points at Crawley
York boss Colin Walker
Walker said all his team is fit for the start of the season on 9 August apart from goalkeeper Michael Ingham who is struggling with a thigh strain. Josh Mimms has taken his place in goal.
"I thought the goalkeeper under pressure came and did OK and I'm really pleased for him and everybody else," he said.
"I thought we certainly matched them in all departments and with a little bit more luck we could have had more than just one goal.
"These results are great but I'd lose them all for three points at Crawley. We've got to keep that in perspective.
"That's what we're working towards - Crawley away and that's why we've got to look after everybody, keep everybody fit and at the moment everybody is flying."
York have one more friendly before the start of the season - at Sheffield FC on Saturday.
