Dunfermline manager Jimmy Calderwood praised his players for their efforts on Saturday and throughout the season after their defeat by Celtic. Calderwood's side had taken a shock lead in at half time, but Celtic ultimately proved too strong.
But the Pars boss acknowledged his players had given everything.
"It's been a very good season and the players did me proud. A lot of people predicted 4-0 or 5-0, but they were wrong," he said.
"Our tactics worked well in the first half although it looked like a foul on their keeper for our goal from where I was standing.
"I wouldn't have been happy if that had happened to my keeper, so I'm sure Martin's not happy.
"But Celtic stepped up the pace in the second half and we gave the ball away too much.
"We've tasted the cup final atmosphere now and a win would have been nice. but we've got to keep progressing."
