McCoist keeps World Cup dreams alive
Scotland 1-1 Norway World Cup qualifier November, 1989
Defeats by Yugoslavia and France put a dent in Scotland's hopes of qualifying for the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
But the Scots were in confident mood and their side was packed with quality players including Alex McLeish, Davie Cooper, Paul McStay and captain Roy Aitken.
Ally McCoist gave Scotland the lead just before the interval, on a night when Aitken earned his 50th cap.
However, the Scots were stunned by defender Erland Johnsen's last-minute equaliser.
Nevertheless, McCoist's goal was enough to secure the point needed to secure qualification for Italia 90.
