A late equaliser from Wayne Phillips earned Harrogate Town a 1-1 draw at Vauxhall Motors.

With two minutes left on the clock Phillips scored to deny Vauxhall their first home win after Obi Anorou had put them ahead early in the second half.

Town manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "Just to get the point having dominated for the majority of the game is a bit frustrating.

"However I think that performance has given everyone a massive lift."

Weaver compared the draw to the way his side won at Stalybridge earlier in the season with a penalty against the run of play.

"We were on the other side of the coin when we played at Stalybridge and they dominated us.

"So to come back and to come back by playing good football it was a decent result - it always is a point away from home."

With Kieran Gonzalez making his first start in goal, Weaver was also happier with his defence.

"Richard Pell came in and was a man mountain," he said. "Matt Bloomer had a tidy game and Paul Talbot, after his spell out, provided good cover at left-back.

"And the debutant keeper was the catalyst for a lot of our attacks and was the calming influence."
