Harrogate Town won their first away game of the season by beating Stalybridge Celtic 1-0.
Graeme Armstrong scored the winner from the penalty spot after 79 minutes.
Manager Simon Weaver told BBC Radio York: "I changed a few things and told the team I wanted to go back to basics, and it paid off.
"I think we've been an unlucky team at times previously but I thought we earned the three points today by being a team of grafters.
Weaver added: "Some people could call it a smash and grab but I've just been speaking to one of their players.
"He said: 'How much trouble was your keeper in?' and I don't think he was in much. I don't think he was tested too much.

"You earn your own luck sometimes."
Weaver made changes to his defence following the heavy defeat to Boston.
Centre halves Richard Pell and Matt Bloomer made way for Craig James and Michael Jacklin and the manager was delighted with the resulting clean sheet.
"I said do what you have to do to get through with a clean sheet, and I thought Michael Jacklin, for a 20-year old, was like a rock at the back."
Harrogate Town return to the CNG Stadium for their next game on Saturday against Hinckley.
