Former Wolves midfielder Kevin O'Connor is training with AFC Telford United, and could become part of their Blue Square North promotion push.
O'Connor is looking to get back into the game after retiring with a nerve problem.
He made his first-team debut for Wolves in 2006 against Plymouth, but soon developed a hamstring problem.
"He got injured and they found he had nerve ending problems," said Telford's assistant manager Larry Chambers.
"He retired on medical grounds, but he's worked hard over the last six months to get himself fit and he feels ready to play part time football," Chambers told BBC Radio Shropshire.
O'Connor had a brief spell with Stockport County on loan in 2006, helping them avoid relegation and he got his first team opportunity when Mick McCarthy took over from Glenn Hoddle as manager.
"If we can get him fit, he's one hell of a player. At the moment he's just training with us and we'll see how it goes," Chambers added.
The 24-year-old Dublin-born player represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level.
