The rise and fall of the Saints
Rewind to the 19 May 2001 and Southampton seemed to be on the cusp of a bright new era.
Matthew Le Tissier scored an 89th-minute winner as Southampton fought back from 2-0 down against Arsenal to leave their traditional home of The Dell on a high, finishing their 24th season in the top flight in 10th place.
The following season the club moved to their all-seater 32,689-capacity St Mary's stadium which cost £32m to build.
BBC Radio Solent's Tony Husband: "Saints fans were sad to leave The Dell but the club had to move on in order to try to compete in the Premier League."
