At the heart of Wilkinson's NFC is a state-of-the-art indoor pitch, offices for the FA's technical experts, accommodation for 300 and sports science facilities.
Designed by Building Design Partnerhip's Tony McGuirk, the complex is divided into "learning, training and housing" areas.
Flanked by a 12ft high glass wall and covered with a cutting-edge membrane roof, the pitch is the focal point.
With cameras in the roof and screens at either end, play can be halted and analysed, and individuals tracked.
