David Beckham's week began with a coaching clinic in New York - a vital part of his soccer charm offensive in the US

But the next evening it was time - bad ankle or not - to start repaying LA's investment in him where it really matters

And it almost went alright on the night - Beckham set up two goals but his side went down 5-4 to the New York Red Bulls

Another day, another team, another country - on Monday Beckham reported for duty with England in London

And with the team training at Arsenal's London Colney ground, it gave him a chance to swap travel tips with Arsene Wenger

But despite playing the entire game, the returning hero was unable to stop England sliding to a 2-1 defeat

Beckham flew back to LA in time to play 90 minutes for his club side on Thursday, but could not stop them losing 3-0
