Beckham had reason to smile after scoring on his first start |
David Beckham says he does not forsee any conflict with his club LA Galaxy over playing for England and is as keen as ever to represent his country. He looks like being named in the squad to face Germany next week even though Galaxy chief Alexei Lalas does not want him playing in friendlies.
But Beckham said: "The club have made it well known they'll do anything they can to help me play for my country.
"They know how passionate I feel about it. Everyone's working together."
Since arriving in America, Beckham's playing time has been severely restricted by a persistent ankle problem.

He finally made his first start for the Galaxy on Wednesday, playing 63 minutes of their 2-0 win over DC United in the semi-final of the SuperLiga tournament.
He captained the side, scoring the opening goal and setting up the second, and is expected to play against New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
New York, who attracted a crowd of 12,103 in their last game, have already sold 55,000 tickets for the visit of the Galaxy.
By then, England boss Steve McClaren will have named his squad for next week's friendly against the Germans at Wembley.
And Beckham's timely return to action should guarantee him a place as England continue to prepare for next month's crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers.
