New Zealand hit back in the third women's one-day international beating England by five wickets at Northampton.

England scored a mediocre 144-9 in their 50 overs, with Rosalie Birch top-scoring with an unbeaten 46.

Spinner Rebecca Steele recorded career-best figures, taking 3-10 in an extremely economical 10 over spell to thwart England's challenge.

NZ made hard work of their run chase but eventually won with nine balls to spare, Rebecca Rolls hitting 42.

England lead the series 2-1 with two more matches to play, at Derby and Old Trafford.
