3rd women's one-day international, Pretoria: England 159-3 (40.5 overs) beat South Africa 157-5 (50 overs) by 7 wickets Edwards hit her second match-winning innings of the tour |
Charlotte Edwards continued her recent good form to lead England Women to a seven-wicket win over South Africa in the third one-day match.
Needing 158, the tourists romped to victory, and a 2-1 series lead, with nine overs to spare.
Edwards, who hit a century in the second match, top-scored with an unbeaten 84 from 126 balls.
Spinners Rosalie Birch and Helen Wardlaw took two wickets each to restrict the home side to 157-5.
Opener Daleen Terblanche hit 81, sharing a stand of 77 with skipper Alison Hodgkinson.
But once Birch bowled Hodgkinson for 32 there was little support from the rest of the home side.
The bulk of England's runs came in a 81-run partnership between Edwards and Taylor, after Laura Newton fell for 13.
Shandre Fritz took two wickets, including Taylor and skipper Clare Connor, but the match was already sewn up by that point.
