Harrison is due to make his ninth title defence |
Scott Harrison's manager Frank Maloney says he tried to talk his charge out of fighting the unbeaten Joan Guzman at Glasgow's Braehead Arena on 25 March. Harrison will defend his WBO featherweight title for a seventh time against the hard-hitting Dominican.
"If I was a boxing fan I would be extremely excited about this fight," said Maloney.
"But I'm not excited because this is probably the most dangerous fight Scott has had to undertake in his career."
Maloney added: "I spent over two hours with Scott and Peter Harrison [the champion's father and trainer] trying to talk him out of this fight and take an easier route.

"But Scott said: 'There's no way I'm going to walk down the streets of Glasgow and be called a coward for ducking anyone. I'm taking this fight and I'm winning it by a knock-out.'" Meanwhile, Harrison said he would be stepping up his training for his 29-year-old opponent, who has 17 knockouts in 24 fights.
"He's an undefeated [former WBO] super bantamweight champion so it's going to be a dangerous fight," said the Scot.
"However, I'm going to train for 11 weeks this time instead of eight because I know how important the fight is.
"There's two big punchers in there fighting so I can't see it going the distance. I haven't been hurt in any of my other fights so he definitely won't knock me out.
"I see this fight as another step up the ladder before I fight for a unification title. It will be a cracking fight for all the fans to see."
