Warren urges Harrison to move up
Scott Harrison
Scott Harrison has been urged to move up a weight by promoter Frank Warren after the WBO featherweight champion's win over Nedal Hussein on Saturday.

Glasgow's Harrison easily outpointed his Australian opponent but is having difficulty making the nine stone limit.

"The WBO have ruled a mandatory defence against [former WBO super bantamweight champion] Joan Guzman," said Warren.

"But Scott should be fighting at super featherweight and in the next six months we need to look at the weight."

Frank Maloney, Harrison's manager, also wants his charge to move up to super featherweight, where Edinburgh's Alex Arthur is British, European and Commonwealth champion.

I'd like to see Scott step up because this is hard on the body... I'll be arguing that he be champion at two different weights

"Scott has been making the weight since he was 15-years-old and has had 10 world title fights," said Maloney.

"I'd like to see Scott step up because this is hard on the body. I'll be arguing that he be champion at two different weights."

Harrison, who needs two months of preparation to make the featherweight limit, looked drained at the pre-fight weigh-in on Friday.

But the 28-year-old Scot is keen on a unification fight at his current weight and is confident of beating the Dominican Republic's Guzman.

"I want a unification fight but I also want fights which are threats to me," said Harrison. "I made the weight and at the end of the day I am still featherweight world champion."
