Elvan Abeylegasse of Turkey broke the seven-year-old women's world 5,000m record at the Bergen Golden League meeting in Norway. The Ethiopian-born 21-year-old clocked 14 minutes 24.68 seconds to beat the previous mark of 14:28.09 set by Chinese Bo Jiang.
Britain's Timothy Benjamin won the 400m in 45.67 seconds from Jamaica's Jermaine Gonzales (45.96secs).
In the 400m hurdles, Briton Chris Rawlinson was third in 48.99.
Rawlinson was 0.45 seconds behind two-time world champion Felix Sanchez of the Dominican Republic (48.54) with Jamaica's Danny McFarlane (48.92) second.
Double Olympic 100m champion Gail Devers of America won the 100m hurdles in 12.56 seconds ahead of Canada's world champion Perdita Felicien.
In the women's 100m, Britain's Abe Oyepitan was eighth in a high quality race won by newly-crowned world champion Torri Edwards in 11.19secs.
American Shawn Crawford pipped countryman Justin Gatlin to win the men's 200m.
Crawford clocked 20.31secs, with Gatlin eight one hundredths of a second back. Portugal's Francis Obikwelu was third in 20.46.

Russian Yuriy Borzakovskiy took gold in the men's 800m in 1:44.41 ahead of Kenyan Wilfred Bungei (1:45.04) with Joeri Jansen of Belgium (1:45.18) third.
Triple jumper Christian Olsson of Sweden took his event with a leap of 17.58m. Brazil's Jadel Gregorio was second with 17.31m, two centimetres clear of Russia's Danila Burkenya. Briton Larry Achike finished ninth.
