'Chess is intense and mentally exhausting'

Divya Deshmukh started playing chess at the age of five and has now become just the fourth Indian woman to attain the status of grandmaster.

At the age of 20, she has been named the Emerging Player of the Year at the BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year ceremony in Delhi.
