    Sunderland v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Sunderland

Former Sunderland chairman Bob Murray will be inducted into the club's hall of fame at half-time. He is the club's longest serving chairman, having been in charge from 1986 to 2006.

Ex-Sunderland striker Marco Gabbiadini, speaking on BBC Radio Newcastle, said: "I think I was his first signing. Bob's a good friend.

"He delivered the stadium, built at a fraction of the cost of similar ones. The Academy of Light is a spectacular place. We used to train up there, it was a field. We had to cancel training once because it was so windy and wet.

"To turn that into what it is now, the foresight is incredible. A great guy. He's one of the most humble people you could meet."

This is Brighton's first league game at Sunderland for 22 years.

The Seagulls have lost on their past five visits with their last victory on Sunderland soil coming in 1981 at Roker Park.

    Sunderland

Although not mathematically safe, Sunderland can pretty much start planning for another season in the Premier League after ticking off the 'magical' 40-point target set at the start of the season.

Relegation seems highly unlikely - only three teams have gone down at the end of a 38-game Premier League season with 40 or more points.

Sunderland's return to the Premier League has been impressive, given all three promoted sides have been relegated in both of the past two seasons.

Furthermore, the Black Cats finished 24 points behind the Championship's top two last season and required stoppage-time winners in both their play-off semi-finals and final to reach the top flight.

The Stadium of Light is a ground that has special meaning for James Milner.

It's where he scored his first Premier League goal all the way back in 2002 for Leeds United.

Twenty-four years on and Milner, 40, is making a record 656th Premier League appearance.

Will he score for Brighton today?

  7. A draw at the Stadium of Light?published at 14:40 GMT

    Sunderland v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    .

Sunderland have had a great season and they have already hit 40 points so they will be absolutely fine in terms of staying up.

But they will still want to finish the season strongly, and that means they need to get their home form going again - after staying unbeaten there for so long, they have lost the past two at the Stadium of Light.

Brighton hit a sticky patch too around the turn of the year but they had picked up again with wins over Brentford and Nottingham Forest before narrowly losing out to Arsenal last time out.

The Seagulls can reel Sunderland in and move above them in the table with a win but I don't think they will get one. Instead, I am going for a draw.

Brighton are three points short of the 40 mark yet they are nearer the European spots than the relegation zone.

After a mid-season lull, things have picked up for Fabian Hurzeler's side in recent weeks, with two wins and three narrow 1-0 defeats, including a somewhat unlucky loss against Arsenal.

They are well-placed to stay up and secure a 10th successive season in the Premier League.

That in itself is some achievement and an illustration of how well Brighton have been run both on and off the pitch.

The first achievement was the 40 points, but we stay hungry because we're in the Premier League. It is the most difficult league in the world, so we cannot sleep for five minutes.

It is building this winning culture – we want to compete. Now it is the next objective.

It is very easy to work with Kyril Louis-Dreyfus [Sunderland owner] because he is young, brilliant and reactive. He has a big commitment to the club and also to the community. He always asks me to put the identity first. I think he has an important future in football.

I knew Regis le Bris before, I was confident coming here. I think he is very calm, focused and works on the details. He is brilliant also. He is a fit for the Sunderland identity. He understood the game we have to play here. We are quite vertical and brave.

Tudor getting far too much credit for Spurs falling off. He hasn’t done well but they were heading for this point from a long time ago.

I feel with Brighton they have that inconsistency and when you have inconsistency it is because you have young players. Whenever we speak about Brighton we say it is a team with potential.

A game which springs to mind is when Brighton played Everton at home, they dominated the whole game, but Everton took the three points. That is what comes with a young manager and a young team.

  15. Sunderland 'bought well' in the summerpublished at 14:18 GMT

    Sunderland v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Steph Houghton
Former England captain on Football Focus

The idea of this season was just staying in the Premier League. Ultimately, it was for the fans to have the enjoyment of being back in the Premier League.

This is a club that has bought well in the summer. Granit Xhaka has come in and used his leadership, and he has used that on the pitch.

I've been saying for a while that Burnley have got too much to do to stay up, and it definitely isn't happening now.

I still think Scott Parker's side will be competitive, but I don't see them getting anything against his old club.

Bournemouth have not lost in the league since 3 January, but they have drawn their past three games, so they are due a win.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-2

  17. 'What will galvanise Spurs?'published at 14:14 GMT

    Rob Green
Former West Ham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

That boost would be given if you went in and said it was someone different right now [rather than Igor Tudor in charge].

Tottenham is in that state at the minute. It certainly is something that needs that lift.

The realism of it is what will galvanise a team to get onto the pitch?

  18. Xhaka signing was a 'statement' from Sunderlandpublished at 14:12 GMT

    Sunderland v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

It is a very important signing for us, for the team, for the club and also the community.

Granit Xhaka was a big statement for us. It was easy for me after to work on the recruitment! For me, I didn’t think the perfect player existed. As a player and leader, he is amazing. We are proud that he trusted the club and the community.

What was impressive was in the first discussion. The first video call in five minutes, he said 'I want to go there'. It was an important moment in this Premier League journey.

  19. 'A few Tottenham players will be on the phone to agents'published at 14:10 GMT

    SpursImage source, Getty Images

For me, you have to change it [the Tottenham manager], we've seen enough already, we've seen decisions that he [Igor Tudor] has made. The players know he is only there until the end of the season so they are not going to fully buy into it.

I guarantee you a few of them are on the phone to agents trying to get moves because they think they are better than the club anyway.

There will probably be questions up top on whose idea it was to bring him in when he doesn't fit the players you have, he doesn't know what his remit is and it's just a mess.

  20. Bournemouth and Burnley going in separate directionspublished at 14:08 GMT

Three points for Bournemouth will see them move one point behind Brentford in seventh place as both eye a Conference League spot for next season.

Burnley, however, are looking more and more likely to drop to the Championship.
