Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott to BBC MOTD: "I thought it was going over to be honest. Obviously it hit the net and I was over the moon and delighted to score. Any goal in a Liverpool shirt is always an honour and the manner I scored it today was one for a lifetime that I will remember.

Was it crazy to play in?: "It was a like a basketball game to be honest, not really what we wanted, but I think it was just the nature of both teams. It was just both counter-attacking teams going at each other and it was just who could score the most goals I expect. Today was a great game from us, but at the same time, we're disappointed with conceding two.

Is it tough to keep going at the end of the season?: "It's not easy, it is just the Premier League really. It is always tough, it is always intense, so we need to make sure that we are well-recovered, focusing on training and preparing for the next game. It is another tough game and that is just the way the Premier League is. Every game is tough, especially an way game as well. We just need to make sure that we go there full of confidence and use this game to build on.

On why you have to be at it for 90 minutes: "Absolutely. We paid that price today with conceding two goals, but the lads quickly changed it and put the mentality back in and fought to the last whistle. To come away with three points is great.

Jurgen Klopp said he feels you haven't played enough this season, will you speak to him about it before he leaves?: "I'm not really one to do that really. It is my dream to go out and play football, especially in a Liverpool shirt. The games I don't start, I'm upset and annoyed but I'm here for the team to make sure that when I come on, I make the impact and if I start, I make the impact. Maybe we can have that conversation towards the end but as I said, I'm just honoured and I'm just very grateful for all opportunities he has gave me."

Liverpool are guaranteed a top three finish. The last time they finished third they reached the finals of the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup the following season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC MOTD: "It's a little bit of a mirror of the season. Really, really, really, good until we were really rubbish and then, we were okay again. It's that period, we concede in different ways. The moment you let them play, immediately, you see what they can do. If you don't let them play, then, you can hurt them and that is all the stuff. Being 4-0 up, making the changes we made, we had exactly the same again.

Were days like today why you decided you don't need the stress anymore?: "Yes, it's a roller-coaster, but it is fine. It was a fantastic atmosphere. The weather was great, you don't have that all that often, so a really nice afternoon. The boys wanted the points and I love that.

How much are looking forward to watching Harvey Elliott from afar?: "Oh yes. That's the typical thing. Did Harvey Elliott play enough this season? I'm not sure. That's up to me, it's a little bit of moments like this and he was outstanding, outstanding and he has to be as dominant as he was today. Fantastic player, what a goal. I love it. All good. I will watch that definitely and enjoy it.

James: It would be typical Spurs if the teams below caught them and they went from being Champions League contenders to finishing 7th/8th.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, speaking to Premier League Productions: "We are disappointed because we lost the game. Three points, even one point is really important.

"Brighton is an amazing team. They're build-up is so good. The importance is to keep your head up and move on to the next game.

"It's football, you can lose. The most important things is to put your head in the same direction. We go together.

"We need to focus on the Conference League and go there and score two goals and win the game."

Aston Villa

By the way, Aston Villa require three points from two games to secure Champions League football.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to BBC's Match of the Day: "Our last two away games at Newcastle and Chelsea weren't great, not only the performance but the results as well. At least today I actually thought we played more like ourselves and we at least endeavoured to be the kind of team we want to be.

"I thought first half, we actually played well, it's just whenever we got to the final third just nothing came of it and I think it allowed Liverpool to get comfortable and the flip side of that, when they got into our box, they were looking dangerous with the player they have. Obviously them getting the two goals made it difficult for us and in the second half, they obviously scored a couple of exceptional goals.

"I still thought our football was good in general and at least in the last half hour, our front third started to click a little bit more and looked a little bit more dangerous. A couple of goals, created a couple more [chances]. It is disappointing obviously when you lose but at least today, I can hold on to the fact that we looked more like ourselves.

On whether the substitutes made the difference: "I thought before that, we played some really good stuff under pressure to get out of the front third, but just whenever we got to the front third, just nothing came of it and when that happens, the opposition get comfortable and if we were able to even just create a couple of goalscoring opportunities for ourselves, it would've maybe set Liverpool back a little bit. I still thought [we did] in genera but our games coming on had some creativity and Richy's (Richarlison) presence up front helped us.

Did you feel the same about the team's defence?: "Some of it wasn't great from our perspective as well, but they are a quality team obviously here at home. We paid the price for the mistakes we made and that is what is going to happen at this level. In general, our defensive work in terms of our pressing work was a lot better than it was midweek."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham can still mathematically qualify for the Champions League but it is looking unlikely. They will be four points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa even if they win their game in hand.

Manchester United will move three points behind them with three games to go if the Red Devils win at Crystal Palace on Monday.

Tottenham have lost each of their last four games in the Premier League, their longest losing run since November 2004 (a run of six). Indeed, the only manager to suffer more consecutive defeats in charge of Spurs in the Premier League than Ange Postecoglou is Ossie Ardiles (seven games between January and February 1994).

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "We are outstanding until we are not. It was a really good game. Tottenham can put pressure on Aston Villa again for the Champions League. In high performance things, you need a spark. I would say three points is enough and the boys thought that. Anfield was a special place today. We were 4-0 up, I made the changes and we lost organisation. Tottenham showed how good they could be. I was happy with the performance.

"We were good in pretty much all areas offensively. The passes were good. So many things were good. We stayed calm. As long as they don't break the lines then it's fine, let them pass. I liked our game a lot. The goals were outstanding.

"Mo [Salah] was outstanding, he played a really good game. His side with Harvey [Elliott] was good. I was pleased for him. None of the boys want to play not great, why would they? Mo showed what he is capable of.

"You do it when you do it and if you miss it, then you miss it. If we win all three then we can achieve the fifth highest points tally of Liverpool.

"I would be lying if I said I was at my highest emotion but I have another game. In two weeks time is another day. I have said it before, I love absolutely everything about this club. We will see how this game will be. Maybe it's pouring down and we cannot stay outside for long. There's a good chance it'll be raining, by the way."

I had a chat with Harvey Elliott a few weeks ago and I told him to shoot more. For me has the ability to do it and I think as a younger player you might shy away from it with Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez and the pressure to feed them.

On Harvey Elliott's future: In this day and age you want flexible players. He can play on the right for a few games, on the left and in the middle which will help him to play consistently for Liverpool.
