  3. Villa Park 'like our fortress'published at 16:52 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, speaking to BBC MOTD: "We had to follow the gameplan and be resilient. We didn't dominate the match and in some moments we were struggling to create or dominate. We respect them a lot and know how difficult it is to get points.

"We were better at being resilient, consistent and demanding was better in the second half."

Working on shooting outside the box?: "They practice a lot in training and then you must show it in the matches. The goal was fantastic. They were defending low but we were pushing and doing more passes before shooting.

"They had two or three chances but Emi Martinez made good saves. We did a great job."

On strong home form: "We feel comfortable and strong here. The fans transmit positive energy and want us to be together - it helps us to connect with the supporters. It's like our fortress."

    FT: Nott'm Forest 0-2 Brighton

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"It's a frustrating one, we started awfully, never got to grips with what we were trying to do. Even the energy, it was flat. After the Lord Mayor's show at Anfield I picked the same side.

"Then after 20 minutes I thought we really started to get a tactical grip on the game, the energy came back, we had a solid first half after 20 minutes. Then we gave away a really soft goal. You've got to manage the game at that moment.

"We don't deliver in a very simple moment, we didn't shift across as a unit at the back and they got a runner through the middle which was dissapointing.

Second half was a good reaction, apart from the mistake it's hard to question the second half performance because it was a very dominant one, we just couldn't find the killer moment."

"You can't wait in this league for someone to give you something it doesn't work like that."

On the impact of players like Omari Hutchinson from the bench:

"It's tough on the players, we had such a good result at Liverpool so it's hard to take those players out. It's close calls now, we want that, a group that's producing, there's a really good competitive element in the squad. Everyone is competing for a shirt."

On what he has liked and what needs to improve:

"The injury list has not been right since before my time, we need to get them back fit, The edge the players ar playing with, and sharpness, has been pleasing. We have been scoring goals too. But today goes to show you've got to continue with the basics constantly, 95 minute of football, You've got to stay focused on the basics. The first goal, that's a basic team shape error that can't afford to happen.

"There have been some good signs, it would be harsh if they [the fans] had questioned the team after what they've seen [in recent games].

"We were below our minimum level in the first 20 minutes, but we kept a clean sheet during that period that gave us time to get back in the game. I must commend the players for that, they are throwing themselves at it ,throwing bodies and getting in blocks. One we regrouped in the first half it was a solid performance."

  5. 'We can beat anyone'published at 16:49 GMT 30 November 2025

FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, speaking to TNT Sports: "We have more intensity in the second half and the opponent was more tired. It was the small things, though. Joshua [Zirkzee] controlled the ball better and we moved the ball better."

Working on set-pieces?: "It's so important in our league because it's so hard against every opponent. They can open the game and give teams more confidence. If you don't work on them you will lose games."

On Johshua Zirkzee scoring: "It's so important for a striker to score goals and the way he responded in the second half was what we wanted. He helped us win the second ball and the goal is important for him and the team."

On Bruno Fernandes feeling his leg late in the game: "It was a kick. I was shouting at him because he needs to talk to the bench but he said it was just a kick."

On how important it is to build on this win: "It's important to win every game and today was once again the proof that if you play the same way but increase the way we fight for the ball then we can beat anyone. Let's try to show that in the next game."

  6. 'A big three points for Liverpool'published at 16:48 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    Alan Shearer
    MOTD pundit

It was a big three points for Liverpool. There was no real great quality up until Isak's goal and that was the moment of brilliance that changed the game. It was an unbelievable finish on the half-volley.

That was the piece of quality that Liverpool needed to change the game and I guess once they scored that there was never really any danger that they would drop points, because other than that Bowen chance at the end, West Ham never really threatened.

So once that goal went in, it was a matter of Liverpool seeing that game out and they did that really well - helped by Paqueta's crazy sending off.

It didn't matter how they did it today, or how they played, it just mattered about Liverpool getting the three points, but overall - and say what you want about West Ham they were really poor - Liverpool deserved it because they were the better team and they defended really well - West Ham didn't even have a shot on target.

    FT: Nott'm Forest 0-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler speaking to Sky Sports:

"Very happy for the team, for the staff, they worked hard this week and during the game. We started really well, created chances ,defended really good, and deserve the lead.

"Second half we struggled a bit, Nottingham brought on some quality, we struggled to defend but we stuck together, attacked and defended together. We deserved to win.

On the connection between Danny Welbeck and Maxim de Cuyper:

"There were a lot of good connections, the goal was so important. We need to highlight the run from Welbeck, creating the space for Maxim. Maxim got the rewards, but the media never highlight the deep run from Danny, that was the key thing. It was a team performance and we are happy today."

On De Cuyper playing further forward:

"He did it the first time today, the last game he came on and played there well. They had a good game and a good connection, it's one key thing we are talking about. It's something we need to keep improving.

    On Georginio Rutter going off:

"First it's a medical decision, but after the game he seemed good. He was standing and celebrating with the fans. So I don't see a head injury."

On the memories of losing 7-0 at the City Ground last season:

"It was not much in my mind, of course when you come here the approach is the same, you're in the same locker room, of course there are some memories.

"I said to the boys there is something we have to clean, for us and the supporters. I'm not only happy for the players and staff but also the supporters."

    FT: Nott'm Forest 0-2 Brighton

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson speaking to Sky Sports:

"The gaffer [Sean Dyche] just said the first 20 minutes we waited for someone to get it going, it took too long for us to get going and then we conceded a sloppy goal before half-time, it was tough.

"We played better second half, made a few subs that changed the game, but then made a sloppy mistake at the end.

"Once we started being more aggressive, playing more football, pressing higher, we looked the better team. We can't wait until the 20th or 30th minute to start doing this.

"We need to recover and go again and hopefully get the three points [on Wednesday]."

  9. 'We threw away chance for better season in the summer'published at 16:45 GMT 30 November 2025

FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Manchester United

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to TNT Sports: "In the first half we were better than Manchester United but after conceding two quick goals the energy dropped. It hurts and we know we should have done better in a few moments so we have to accept it.

On Crystal Palace losing again after playing in Europe: "I think it is what we missed in summer, definitely. I never talked about it until now but everything that happened was pretty clear and if you play European football for the first time in your club's history, I think the right answer is invest and not save and we saved and that is what we are facing. This group of players are giving everything every single day but I think this group of players didn't get the right support but I know we will stick together and we will work hard to change this. We are still in very good positions but the chance to play an even better season we threw away in the summer."

On Ismaila Sarr: "His ankle is quite swollen. We know that we will miss him for a couple of weeks. Now it looks like we miss him for more weeks. It is tough because we have no profile like him. That is what I am talking about and it is mot surprising that he will go to AFCOn. We missed to have the right profile in the squad, to add this to our squad. We have to deal with this, we will find solutions but again [there were] missed opportunities, not just today in the game."

  10. 'A deserved win'published at 16:44 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Nott'm Forest 0-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: I think we are happy with the result. The first half the performance also because we dominated against a good opponent, we controlled the game, created chances, defended quite well. In the second half we suffered a bit but stuck together and defended the box quite well. I thought in the end it was a deserved win."

On the chances they created in the first half: "They were great chances. We always want to score but you need to create chances to score. We were good in structure and therefore we are happy with the performance. Goals are the most important and we weren't able to score but we stayed patient and kept defending. We always were very stable in the defence and therefore a clean sheet was so important in this phase. This was crucial."

On Stefanos Tzimas scoring: "We are all happy for him because he is a hard worker and deserved it. He is adapting. Everyone in the locker room was really happy for him. He's a great character and a great football player. If he keeps pushing he can be a good player for us this season."

On whether last season's defeat was motivation: "In general what you can say is that we are players with big self confidence and personality on the pitch today. There was something in the air we needed to clear not only for us but the supporters. Overall it was a different game with different players. We got on the pitch with players who had great character and I think that was the main thing."

On how he feels Brighton are doing this season: "We don't use the word momentum because every game is hard work and you start always from point zero. I see a team that sticks together, a team that's working hard, a team that's getting an understanding more and more for each other. It takes time. We are still not where we want to be but it's a process and we focus on that. Every Premier League game is hard and that's what we have to do."

  11. 'Fine margins'published at 16:43 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves manager Rob Edwards, speaking to BBC MOTD: "What I saw was a really good performance and a team that showed commitment. It was a derby game and the players recognised that - they showed a lot of fight.

"I'm happy with the performance but disappointed with the result.

"The difference between last week and this week was really big. It was fine margins. The build-up to the goal could have been different, I thought it was a foul on Joao [Gomes] and that stops play but they go on and score.

"There were a lot of good things to take and if we're going to win we need to play like that. We showed a good side of ourselves today. But football is about winning as well and that's what we're missing at the moment."

On whether there were positives: "We showed intensity and fight. We didn't let our heads go down and continued to push. We were organised and limited them - they can open teams up but didn't do that today.

"There was a lot to like today apart from the result. We kept going right to the end and I think the supporters could see that. I hate losing, we all do, but we're going the right way and need to believe that."

  12. 'Huge' for Isak to get off the markpublished at 16:42 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    Alan Shearer
    MOTD pundit

It's a big win for Liverpool and it's huge for Isak to get his first Premier League goal for them. He's had to wait longer than he would have wanted for it, or the Liverpool fans would have wanted too.

There is no doubt the quality is there. It is just about him getting fit and them getting used to how he wants to play.

You can hear more from Shearer on MOTD at 22:35 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  13. 'We are going to be humble and realistic'published at 16:41 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to Sky Sports: "Great job. Each match is difficult. They were feeling uncomfortable and we needed to be passionate and respect them in the moment. We needed to be passionate and keep being consistent. Sometimes we didn't win. We are in the dressing room speaking about it. We continued dominating in the manner we did. We fared better in the second half and we had some better chances than in the first half.

"We are trying to set the standards high and our level high in our consistency. We grew up here in three years. This moment we had today is an experience. We believe in the difficult moment and believe in getting our consistency. We must understand that each match is to try and get our best.

On the goal: "They are practising a lot every training session and shooting like that. The players are following every moment tactically the way we need. The first 20 minutes they are defending so lowso we need to shoot and be clinical. We are responding as a team tactically.

"The table is, of course, now better how we can see it. We are going to be humble and realistic. We will focus on each match. We have Brighton away on Wednesday."

  14. 'Frustrating' but 'lot of good signs'published at 16:39 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Nott'm Forest 0-2 Brighton

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche, speaking to Sky Sports: "A strong one with the performance after the first 20 minutes, a really poor first 20 minutes. It felt a bit like we were waiting for everybody else to do something and they weren't waiting. Then gave away a really soft goal. It's just the basics, getting across and filling holes. I felt in the second half we were dominant. We got in so many good areas. A lot of good signs within the performance but you've got to score goals."

On the first goal being frustrating: "It's game management. You've weathered the early part of the game and then we come back into it and give away a really soft goal. Second half they did everything I asked of them and they asked of themselves."

On the second goal: "It's just one of them. You don't quite get enough purchase on the ball, it doesn't make it to the keeper, and it's a bit of scramble. We were dominant in the second half and it was a great reaction from 1-0 down. That relentless attitude is going to be important."

On his time at Forest so far: "Today is frustrating because of the scoreline but after the first 20 minutes I thought it was another good performance. It doesn't look it because you lose. We've got players to come back fit. There is a lot of good signs here but we've got to continue to turn those good signs into win. It was just a lack of tactical discipline in the early part and the rest of the game I can't really question."

On whether Chris Wood would have made a difference: "With the form he was in last year, we're getting in so many good areas and we know he can score goals. It was just the moments where we got into key areas we didn't quite find the pass. We're knocking on the door constantly and in the second half and the goal is just really frustrating."

  15. 'Result disappointing but performance positive'published at 16:37 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves manager Rob Edwards, speaking to Sky Sports: "I thought it was a really good performance at Villa Park especially. It's one of the tougher tests you get in the Premier League.

"For long spells we looked a good team and matched them in many aspects. We showed spirit and fight and looked good with the ball for long spells. I thought we created good moments and I don't know how we haven't scored. I'm disappointed with the result but happy with the performance."

On the confidence of the players: "We got into good areas and scored a goal that was ruled out. Emi Martinez made some good saves too and we carried a threat but he's probably the best goalkeeper in the world. Villa are so disciplined and organised that it's difficult against them. We chucked everything at them and we have positives to take forward.

"I can already see the difference in performance in the space of a week."

On how Wolves move forward from this loss: "The difference in performance from last week to this one is vast. It has been a positive week of training and the lads are on board with what we want to do. We just have to work hard and if we keep playing like that then I can see us hopefully turning some momentum our way."

  16. 'The spirit and desire was there'published at 16:35 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I think we achieved good moments in spells and reached the spaces in the final third but the decision was not as accurate as we all wished.

On the red card for Lucas Paqueta: "Allow me to speak with Lucas first and try to understand why. Even with one man less the boys had a bit of fight. The spirit and the desire was there in a day that was very sad for us as a club. The passing of Billy Bonds affected everybody and we wanted to change the atmosphere with our actions. The boys gave it a fight so let's keep on going."

  17. 'As a striker you need momentum'published at 16:33 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool striker Alexander Isak speaking to BBC MOTD: "I've been waiting for it and chasing it [his first Premier League goal for Liverpool] and sometimes it takes longer than you expect but happy to score a goal and help towards the win today. It's never easy, as a striker you need momentum. Sometimes you go through this patches but hopefully this will be helpful towards building good form. We defended really well and scored twice so happy days."

  18. 'A big call by Slot' and it workedpublished at 16:32 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    Alan Shearer
    MOTD pundit

It was a big call by Slot to leave Salah out today but I guess it is made easier by Liverpool's results - when things aren't going for you, you have to make big decisions.

And that was a big one today because of what he's done for Liverpool in the past, but Salah can't complain because he hasn't been playing well, and when that's the case, then you have to accept the decision.

It has worked for Liverpool... and it has worked for Isak too, because he was the difference today.

You can hear more from Shearer on MOTD at 22:35 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  19. 'The atmosphere was really good'published at 16:31 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara: "They played very well. We know before the game it'll be tough. They're fighting at he bottom and need points. In the first half, they were better than us but we kept calm. We are happy but now we need to rest and go again on Wednesday.

On his goal: "It's very fast so good control, I try to shoot and after I see the ball was good. I'm happy with the goal.

"If you're strong at home, you're happy to play at home. The atmosphere was really good. They push us."

  20. 'I'll speak to Lucas to try and understand his behaviour'published at 16:29 GMT 30 November 2025

    FT: West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo on Lucas Paqueta's red card: "I'm not going to comment too much. First of all I'm going to speak to Lucas and try to understand his frustrations and his behaviour.

"We need all the player and we are going to need them until the end of the season. Every player out, we're going to miss them."

On the team performance: "It's a disappointing day. We felt we were in the game, we were controlling the game. A lack of concentration cost us.

"We fought against a good team. The final pass, the final cross wasn't there."

Is the result a step backwards: "No way, no way. We didn't perform as well as should have. We'll bounce back."
