Glasgow City moved up to fourth spot in the Scottish Women's Premier League after a comfortable win over lowly Montrose.

An early goal from Lisa Evans set the tone for the visitors via a free-kick from just outside the area.

City kept up the pressure on their opponents and soon doubled their lead. Kelly Brady with her fifth league goal since joining the club in the summer.

Despite City’s dominance, the home side pulled a goal back early in the second half. Ashley Robertson scoring her first goal since she returned Montrose.

City could have been out of sight in this one, the woodwork preventing them from going further ahead.

But they did add to their scoreline when Emily Whelan, only in the park when she made quite the impact, her 77th-minute goal sealing victory.

City move one place up the table to fourth, seven points off top spot.

Montrose remain rooted to the foot of the table after losing all seven of their opening games.
