Rangers maintained their three-point lead at the top of the Scottish Women's Premier League going into the international break.
But they were far from their clinical best as Jodi McLeary's strike was enough to beat hosts Partick Thistle.
Blustery conditions at Petershill made it a tricky afternoon for both sides and chances were few and far between.
Rangers' Bailey Collins had a shot saved, as did Rachel Donaldson for the home side.
Visiting head coach Leanne Crichton made seven changes to her starting 11 for this one after their midweek Europa Cup exit.
And two of those players were instrumental in setting up their opener. Collins raced through, found Eva Hendle and her cross was steered home by McLeary.
Katy Wilkinson missed a couple of chances in the second half to make life more comfortable for Rangers.
Thistle did not overly threaten in the second half, but they kept at it and in added time were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position, but Sienna McGoldrick blazed over.
The narrow win ensured Rangers still lead the way from Celtic, while Partick remain sixth despite the narrow defeat.
