I don’t understand the suggestion to change laws to ‘crack down’ on set-piece goals. Football needs chaos. If teams didn’t score from set-pieces hardly any goals would be scored as all teams press man for man today, coupled with individuality and skill being drilled out of players. Chaos is fun!

  2. Wolves not sitting deeppublished at 20:30 GMT

    Wolves 0-0 Liverpool

Wolves certainly don't look like a side that's bottom of the table and they're not sitting deep at all. But that is giving Liverpool plenty of space to drive into whenever they win the ball back.

Hugo Ekitike does really well to free himself and burst up the pitch. He chooses to set it for Jeremie Frimpong but his wild swing is high and wide.

    I think there's a snobbery around these set-pieces.

What are they designed for? To cause confusion and trouble, to make life as uncomfortable as possible for the opposition. That's the way Arsenal have been doing it and the way Liverpool have these past few weeks.

A truly dreadful half of football at Elland Road. One team intent playing for a 0-0, the other with no idea how to break them down.

    Wolves 0-0 Liverpool

Joao Gomes plays a stunner of a pass behind Milos Kerkez to find Jackson Tchatchoua but his cross is awful and flies behind for a goal kick.

Dominik Szoboszlai's corner is easily headed clear by Jackson Tchatchoua.

Milos Kerkez is high down the left and wins a corner for Liverpool.

Can they do it again from a set-piece?

Wolves aren't going to roll over here. Think Liverpool will have a game on their hands tonight.

Alexis Mac Allister wins the ball high and feeds it left for Cody Gakpo. He takes one touch inside and drills one goalwards but Jose Sa catches.

  12. 'Really scrappy half of football'published at 20:22 GMT

    HT: Leeds 0-0 Sunderland

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at Elland Road

It's been a really scrappy half of football but there's been lots of incidents. A little bit of drama.

We need some goals, but overall you would say when they're going in there both managers will not be that disappointed.

    Leeds 0-0 Sunderland

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Elland Road

The biggest cheer of the match so far came from the home fans as the referee blew for half time as Sunderland were breaking on a counter.

That aside, an utterly forgettable 45 minutes of football that had fans heading for refreshments way before the half-time whistle was blown.

    Wolves 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Molineux

It's been a decent start for Wolves. Liverpool are trying to find their feet and rhythm and you can sense that Wolves are going to try and play on their full-backs being high up the pitch.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:20 GMT

    Everton 1-0 Burnley

It's far from the best game I've ever seen.

  16. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:19 GMT

    Everton 1-0 Burnley

Iliman Ndiaye shows off his dancing feet but rather theatrically goes down inside the penalty area.

VAR has a look but not enough in that.

Joao Gomes does well to escape a couple of Liverpool challenges to drag Wolves up the pitch.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:19 GMT

Not much action. Sunderland keeper Melker Ellborg made a good save on his debut to deny an Anton Stach free-kick.

Bright start from Wolves but I'm delighted I'm retired because Tchatchoua would leave me for dust.

Remember that extra ball on the pitch? Sunderland captain Luke O'Nien kicks it at a Leeds player in possession and is booked.
