Lee: Do you think it is possible to do well in FPL without Erling Haaland. If so, how would you do it? I've struggled for two seasons, but am doing better this time.

FPL Heisenberg: Over the course of the season, it's tough, because when he's red-hot and everyone captains him, you'll get punished harshly. It would've been OK not owning him GW18-24, but on the whole it's hard to go without him. It's more possible if the other expensive players, like Mo Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka were flying, but as they have all been largely disappointing, it hasn't been worth going without Erling Haaland, as I can still have Haaland without being restricted financially as those other expensive players have been avoidable.

Lyle: Should I transfer out Enzo Fernandez or leave him on my bench this week for Eli Junior Kroupi? If I transfer...who to bring in from Szoboszlai or Outtara?

FPL Heisenberg: I prefer Outtara out of those two. I think make the move, Kroupi fixture is OK, but sometimes he starts on the bench or subbed early.

    Calvert-Lewin for captain?published at 16:52 GMT

Anon: Who should I captain Erling Haaland or Dominic Calvert-Lewin?

FPL Heisenberg: Definitely Haaland for me. However, if you are chasing in your mini leagues you could gamble on a differential. Calvert-Lewin vs Man City probably isn't the best gamble though.

Harry: Heisenberg, please can you give me some words of encouragement and advice I'm last in my mini league and if I lose, my forfeit will be to fly to England from Canada (where I live) dressed as a WW2 nurse.

FPL Heisenberg: That's a crazy forfeit! Keep going, stay strong and make sure you don't come last!

Lyle: I'm wondering what I should do regarding Micky van de Ven. It's him or Harry Wilson on my team, so what do you reckon I should do?

FPL Heisenberg: 100% start Harry Wilson over Van De Ven.

Lyle: Do you like Bournemouth's Rayan as a captain?

FPL Heisenberg: I like him as a pick and a transfer in, but for captaincy prefer the premium players such as Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes. However, if you're chasing in your mini leagues you could gamble on Rayan.

Liam: There are a lot of unknowns at this stage with regard to blanks and doubles. A lot of people, including myself, are on a WC32 strategy, but some beginning to favour an earlier wildcard instead. What strategy are you and what are your thoughts on it?

FPL Heisenberg: Yes, I'm also on Wildcard GW32. I plan to navigate Blank GW31 using free transfers then wildcarding the following week. I'll use my GW32 Wildcard to set up for a Double GW33 Bench Boost.

Tim: G'day Heisenberg, I'm considering Elliot Anderson or Rayan Cherki as a cheap rotating final midfielder - who should I go for?

FPL Heisenberg: Cherki seems to be getting rotated quite a lot, so consider Harry Wilson or Dango Ouattara. Out of the two suggested I prefer Elliot Anderson for the guaranteed minutes and defensive contributions, but his attacking threat isn't great!

George: Would you look to sell Robert Sanchez this week, or is a goalkeeper not worth the transfer? If it is, who would you go for?

FPL Heisenberg: Yes I would. Kelleher would be my pick. Great fixtures and he has saved three penalties this season. No other keeper in the league has saved two or more.

Jay: Who would you captain this weekend Heisenberg? For me, it’s a toss up between Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes and Hugo Ekitike. It’s tough, but Bruno seems the safest bet to me right now - do you agree?

FPL Heisenberg: Real tough one, I was on Bruno Fernandes earlier in the week, but switched to Erling Haaland. I might end up regretting it! I think choose either Bruno or Haaland mate. Hugo Ekitike's fixture is decent and he's in my team too, so hope he does well, but his form worries me too much to trust him with the captaincy.

Phil: Having made my transfer early I now have the problem of having Florian Wirtz not playing. My bench has Joao Pedro, Trevoh Chalobah and Tyrick Mitchell on it. Who do you recommend I replace Wirtz with for this game week?

FPL Heisenberg: Wirtz to Mbeumo or Wilson is a good shout. But if it's a minus four, maybe avoid that and bench Wirtz and play Joao Pedro.

James: I've got Donnarumma, Semenyo and Haaland in my squad. I would like to transfer in O'Reilly given his defensive returns these past two game-weeks. Which of the three do I transfer out in order to get O'Reilly in the squad? Thanking you dearly, Heisenberg.

FPL Heisenberg: Out of those three, definitely Donnarumma... be careful of blank GW31 though, City may blank so using transfers now to bring in O'Reilly may not be the best play. So just check it fits in with your plan for Blank GW31.

  19. BBC Sport's FPL team of the weekpublished at 15:56 GMT

    FPL Q&A with FPL Heisenberg

    Thomas Woods
BBC Sport FPL writer, best finish 9,100th

BBC Sport's FPL team of the week

As we enter the business stage of the FPL season, every decision matters a little bit more for managers, with less time to make up for errors.

Captaincy is a big call this week and, with Arsenal and Chelsea facing off in a potentially tight game, the teams to look at are Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Erling Haaland's flaky form in his past 10 games - only three goals scored - has put us off captaining him at the moment, and Liverpool do not have a standout option, so we have gone for the upside of Bruno Fernandes back in his favourite number 10 position.

The team of the week is selected based on current FPL prices to fit within a £100m budget, as if you were playing a Free Hit.

James: I need to make up ground in my mini league. I have a couple of transfers: Van Dijk or Hill (for Chalobah)? And Raul or Thiago - for Bowen or Joao Pedro? (Planning to free hit in Gameweek 31).

FPL Heisenberg: My moves this week are Chalobah and Joao Pedro to Virgil and Thiago, so I'm biased towards those moves. Strong fixtures for Virgil and Thiago.
