    "I think the Premier League is like that [competitive]. There is a lot of teams, and one result can send you up a bit or send you down a bit. Depending on how it goes.

    "Newcastle have done remarkable - last 16 in the Champions League. So great credit to them, but yes it can have an effect on your Premier League games - your bread and butter really.

    "He [Eddie Howe] has given Newcastle success, he has won a trophy for them, he has given them European football, and I am sure all the Geordies are all happy watching."

    Arsenal will be loving that draw. That’s at least a semi-final spot. Hard side of the draw for the likes of Liverpool, City and Chelsea. Then again, Liverpool are royalty in this competition, Man City are superb and Chelsea are World club champions.
